Annie Belle Parks

Memorial Park Funeral Home of Gainesville, announces the death of Annie Belle Parks, age 87, of Gainesville. Mrs. Parks died Sunday September 25, 2011 at New Horizons West Nursing Home from an extended illness.

Born in Athens, Georgia on Christmas day 1923, she lived most of her life in Hall County. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family, a wife of 63 years, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by all. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Gainesville Mill.

She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie Mac and Rosa Lee Ledford Clark, a special aunt and uncle, Charlie Roscoe and Mae Ledford Chester who provided her parental care, an infant sister, Lillian Clark, a sister, Doris Clark Jones, an infant brother; paternal grandparents, John R. and Paratine Pruitt Clark; maternal grandparents, Newton S. and Cynthia Thomas Ledford; brother-in-law's and sister in-law's; Billie and Grace Park, Robert Parks, Peggy Jen Parks, Gordon and Mozelle Parks, and John Mayfield.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, James Donald Parks, daughter and son in-law, Carolyn and Billy Skelton, Sr., sons and daughter in-laws, Charles Donald and Carolyn Parks, Gerald Anthony and Kathy Parks, Johnny Lee and Valorie Parks. Brother in-law, Sidney M. Jones, brother in-law, Ronald Brady, sister in-law, Mozelle Brady, and sister in-law, Addie Bell Mayfield. Six grandchildren; Billy Skelton, Jr., David A. Skelton, Michelle Skelton Bolding, Eddie Parks, Greg Parks, and Trent Parks, seven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, all of Gainesville, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, in Memorial Park Chapel of Gainesville. The Rev. Lamar Purcell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted, or those desiring may make donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
