Retha Jane Smith Eller

Retha Jane Smith Eller, 95, of Gainesville passed away October 14, 2011 at New Horizons North Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 17, 2011 at 2:00pm at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Jackson, Rev. Robert Kersh and Todd Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Sunday.

Mrs. Eller was born April 28, 1916 in Maysville to the late Joseph and Dora Ann Smith. She was retired from Pilgrims Pride and is a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Harrison Eller, son Robert Eller, daughter Mary Jo Tanner, granddaughter Vickie Chelena, granddaughter Tammy Bruce, brother Otis C. Smith, brother John Smith, brother Ira Smith, sister Nettie Best, son-in-law Wilburn Tanner.

She is survived by her daughter Joyce Ladd of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Chuck Ford of Gainesville, daughter Faye Wolfe of Gainesville, daughter-in-law Diane Eller of Gainesville, sister Mae Wilson of Greenwood SC, special nephew J.C. Smith of Vensonville AK, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to New Horizons North Nursing Home for the care they gave to our mother.
