Douglas R. Minish

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Douglas R. Minish, 73, of Athens who passed away at the University Nursing and Rehab Center in Athens on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011.

Born in Commerce, he was the son of the late Melvin and Ruby Greene Minish and was also preceded in death by siblings, Rudolph Minish, Betty Jane Dispain and Coil Lee Minish.

Survivors include children, Deborah Ann (Gary) Ragsdale of Baldwin, Sandra (Mac) White of Homer and Lisa (Greg) Peck of Hull; grandchildren, Christy (Trent) Ayers, Scott (Chasity) Brock, Stephenie (Michael) Sailers, Clayton David, Adrienne David and Patrick Burroughs; great-grandchildren, Jewels, Jacy and Brent Ayers, Destiny, Austin and Kyler Brock, and Natalie, Cierra, Carlee and Peyton Sailers; former wife, Clara Minish of Homer; siblings, Ronnie Minish of Homer, Linda Jordan of Commerce, Francis Brown of Homer and Becky Williamson of Jefferson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce with interment following in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9 PM.
