William Walter Jones

William Walter Jones, 75, of Dawsonville, GA died at Northside Hospital Atlanta on October 31, 2011. Born in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of the late Lyda and Everett Jones. His daughter, Cas Campbell also predeceased him.

William served in the US Army and spent his career in the software industry with Digital and retired from IBM. Following retirement, he established his own company, AMS Software. He was an avid boater and golfer and enjoyed projects of any kind.

William is survived by his beloved wife, June Schafer-Jones of Dawsonville, GA; daughters, Sharon (Jim) Driggers of Canton, GA ,Patti (Stephen) Chandler of Monroe, GA and Aliey Spencer of Portsmouth, OH; son, Bill (Ladawne) Jones of Augusta, GA; stepchildren, Jay Gundy of Fremont, OH, Julaine(Bob) Jarrett of Suwanee, GA and Jennifer Garrison of Cumming, GA; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Trinity Church, 2985 Steve Tate Highway, Marble Hill, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Church, American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
