Mary Frank Clonts Wynn

Mary Frank Clonts Wynn, RNC, aged 68, a resident of Dahlonega, GA, passed away on November 9, 2011 of complications from chemotherapy, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was retired from the Mother-Baby Unit of that same Medical Center, where she worked from 1980 to 2009 as a Registered Nurse and Certified Lactation Consultant.

Mrs. Wynn was the daughter of James Edward Clonts and Ruby Vann Clonts, both deceased, of Kingsport, TN. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Jack T. Wynn of Dahlonega, GA; daughters Mary Catherine Chamness of Holly Springs, GA, and Margaret E. Wynn, of Fairburn, GA; son, Dr. Thomas A. Wynn, of Lexington, MA; and two sisters, Ruby C. Chappell and Allee C. Hopkins, both of Kingsport, TN. There are four grandchildren: Allen and Michael Chamness of Holly Springs, GA, and Zoe and Aaron Wynn, of Lexington, MA.

Mary Frank earned her Master of Nursing degree from Emory University, and taught nursing at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, and the University of Missouri-Columbia. She designed the curriculum for the LPN to BSN program at Golden Triangle Vo-Tech Center in Columbus, Mississippi. Recently she was auditing courses in art history and medieval history at North Georgia College and State University.

Mary Frank was active in the Dahlonega United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and played handbells. She also sang in the choir at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Gainesville for many years.

The memorial service will be at the Dahlonega United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 3:30 pm, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of arrangements. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dahlonega United Methodist Church.
