William Paul Merritt

William Paul Merritt, age 65 of Pendergrass, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend John Garrett will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 12:00 pm till funeral hour, 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Merritt was born August 11, 1946 in Buford, Georgia to the late George Merritt and Elsie Ellison Merritt. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was of the Baptist Faith. William was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Edward & Charles Merritt and his sister, Elsie Jean Jones.

Mr. Merritt is survived by his wife, Peggy Merritt of Pendergrass, his daughters, Caprice Ellis of Victorville, California, Shernia Merritt of Pendergrass and Whitney Merritt of Pendergrass, his son, William R. Merritt of Lagrange, Georgia and his sisters, Andrea Merritt Moss of Sugar Hill and Candace Merritt Jones of Buford.
