Eula Rea Duffel Smith

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Eula Rea Duffel Smith, 90,of Commerce who died Tuesday afternoon, November 29, 2011 at the Northridge Medical Center in Commerce.

Born March 7, 1921 in Madison County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Lera Duffel and was married for 71 years to the late Robert "Bob" Smith whom she loved very much. Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by daughters, Eula Mae Smith and Linda Smith Miller.

Mrs. Smith was a retired textile worker and a member of the Madison Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Runt and Jerri Smith, Ruth and Johnny Dills, Peggy and Leon Minish, all of Commerce, and Jo and Stanley Brown of Homer; sister-in-law, Lena Mae Dixon of Jefferson; brothers, Horace Duffel of Beaufort, SC, George Duffel of Jefferson and Allen Duffel of Carnesville; sister, Maggie McClain of Jefferson.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce with Dr. James Waller, Rev. David Harbin and Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
