Lawton Monroe Sosebee

Lawton Monroe Sosebee, 89, of Cumming passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 30th.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Wallace Sosebee in 2006 and daughter, Judy Sosebee Blackburn in 2008. He leaves behind his granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Robin and Joe DiGiorgio and great- grandson Ryan Ledbetter of Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by sister Reatha McConnell, sister Bonnie Gramling, sister and brother-in-law Ozell and Arter Watkins, sister and brother-in-law Iola and Cecil Gramling, and son-in-law Bob Blackburn of Cumming, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited beginning at 4:00 pm on Friday, and Saturday beginning from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3rd at 1:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. Services will be conducted by Reverends Ricky Byrd, John Lummus and Jackie Stewart.

Mr. Sosebee was a Cumming native. He attended North Georgia College. He worked as a First Class Welder in Norfolk, Virginia. He served in the Air Force at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. Following in his father's footsteps, he was a rural mail carrier. He served Forsyth County with the Agricultural Stabilization & Conservation Service, Water and Sewer Authority and as a County Commissioner.

Mr. Sosebee was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and Ducktown Lodge #572 F&AM.
