Melvin Harold England age 62 of Gainesville passed away December 9, 2011.

Mr. England was born March 12, 1949 in Gainesville to the late Burie William & Irene Shockley England. He worked for 38 years at Macklanburg Duncan, but most recently he was self employed. Mr. England was a member Oakwood First Baptist Church.

Survivors include, daughter, Stacy Lynn England of Gainesville, son & daughter in law, Rodney Scott & Roxanne England of Lawrenceville, grandson, Christopher Lance England, granddaughter, Courtney Kristine Savage, grandson, Michael Aaron Savage, grandsons, Blake Alexander England & granddaughter, Brooke Caroline England, sisters, Jeanette Collins of Oakwood, Mildred Gilleland, Janey Whitter of Fullenton, California & Linda Mumma of Flowery Branch, brothers, Donald England of Oakwood, & Johnny England of Gillsville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday December 14, 2011 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Kersh officiating. Burial will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday December 12, 2011 & Tuesday December 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
