Russell Ray Griffin Sr.

Ivie Funeral Home of Commerce announces services for Russell Ray Griffin Sr. 75 of Nicholson, Ga. who died Dec. 25,2011.

He was the son of the late Luther and Amy Certain Griffin and retired from the carpet industry.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Griffin of the home, 3 sons Russell Ray ( Shelby) Griffin Jr. of Athens, Anthony Griffin of Nicholson and Brian ( Jill) Griffin of Jefferson. Two daughters also survive Betsy (Richard) Wiggins of Cummings and Susan (Mike) Peneguy of Colbert. One brother Qunnion Griffin of Toccoa and 5 sisters Ollie Fowler of Anderson, S.C., Barbara Manley of Toccoa, Joette Roach of Seneca, S.C. , Joyce Peeples of Toccoa and Janice Pulliam also of Toccoa. 14 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Griffin was prceded in death by a brother Carter Griffin.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 PM from the New Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Goodroe officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
