Elizabeth Tubbs Cornell

Mrs. Elizabeth Tubbs Cornell age 86 of Flowery Branch, passed away on December 30, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following and extended illness.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 02, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with internment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Jim Sneed will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday January 02, 2012 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cornell was born on April 09, 1925 in Birmingham, AL to the late Marcus Lester Tubbs and Gladys Olive Garfield Tubbs. Mrs. Cornell was a dedicated Christian and a member of Life Point Assembly of God, faithfully reading her Bible and in prayer for many of her family and friends every night. Mrs. Cornell served as an active member of the Gainesville Senior Center until her health confined her to her home. She lived at Peachtree Assisted Living Center at the time of her death. Mrs. Cornell was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Cornell to whom she was married to for 49 years, her two sons, Robert (Bobby) Cornell and Alan Cornell, and sister, Gladys Cotton.

Mrs. Cornell is survived by her niece and her husband, Joyce and Jim Sneed of Flowery Branch, nephew and his wife, Jim and Linda Hodges of Marietta Ga, nephew and his wife, Charles and Vera Hodges of Union, Ms, great niece Felicia Hodges, Great Nieces and husbands, Laura and Bill Taylor, Lisa and Brian Lappert, Great Nephews and wives, Tracy and Melissa Hodges, Ted and Christina Gentry, Eric and Laurie Hodges, and 13 great-great nieces and nephews.
