Joseph Thomas Williams

Mr. Joseph Thomas Williams, age 80 of Commerce died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Williams was born in Commerce to the late, Bill and Hilda Wilbanks Williams. He was a member of the Commerce First United Methodist Church and a Charter member of the Cold Sassy Players. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran and a retired salesperson for C.M. Lee Asphalt Company. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Williams Sr.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Beverly Chamberland Williams of Commerce; daughters, Jennifer Sanders and Leslie Stephens both of Commerce; grandchildren, Laura, Jessica, Katherine, and Joe Sanders all of Commerce; nephew, Bob Williams Jr. of Commerce.

Funeral service will be Tuesday 2:00 PM from the Commerce First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Bowen and Dr. Carlton Allen officiating with the interment following in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5-8 PM.
