Margie Mildred Welborn Coleman

Margie Mildred Welborn Coleman, 93, of Rabun Gap, GA, went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 16, 2012 at Fidelia Eckerd Nursing Home in Highlands, NC.

She was born to John D. and Dona King Welborn in Jackson County, GA on July 9, 1918.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Irwin Coleman; one son, Grover Coleman, three brothers, J.D., Edley, and Doc Welborn; two sisters, Mae Kilby, Maude Mize and a grandchild, Isaac Coleman.

Margie is survived by two sons, Bill Coleman and his wife Rhonette of Milledgeville, GA, Pat Coleman and his wife Suzanne of Rabun Gap, GA; two daughters, Dona Vinson of Dillard, GA, Carla Thornton and her husband William of Woodstock, GA; a daughter-in-law, Burma Coleman of Rabun Gap, GA; and a sister, Millie Raby of Franklin, NC. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Margie was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was a member of Clayton Baptist Church and was also a member of WMU and Songbirds.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 12 noon to 2 pm. Funeral services will be held in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel after visitation at 2 pm with Dr. Joe Nichols and Rev. Larry Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Wolffork Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Margie's name may be made to Fidelia Eckerd Living Center, 190 Hospital Drive, Highlands, NC 28741.
