Elsie Terry Sutton

Obituary Date: Tuesday, January 17, 2012
Elsie Terry Sutton, age 83, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, following a sudden illness at the residence.

Mrs. Sutton was born in Alto, Georgia on July 6, 1928, to the late Raymond and Henrietta Pettit Blackburn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Terry and second husband, Bill Sutton, sisters, Daisy Blackburn, Pauline Ferguson and Hazel Pritchett. She was of the Baptist faith and regularly attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church. Mrs. Sutton was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Chris Martin, Gainesville, GA; brothers, Ray Blackburn, Alto, GA and Fay Blackburn, Cornelia, GA; two grandchildren and spouses, Erin and Colin Sattler and Caleb and Katie Martin; and one great-grandchild, Micah Sattler.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012, Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Tim Beasley and Mr. Caleb Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012, from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
