Maude Irene Blair Nicholson

Funeral services for Maude Irene Blair Nicholson, age 83 of Clarkesville will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from the Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Rev. Walter Singletary will officiate with interment to follow the service in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Nicholson died January 19, 2012 at Habersham Medical Center.

Born in Rabun County on July 27, 1928 Mrs. Nicholson was the daughter of the late George L. and Harriet Crump Blair. She was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church and she was retired from Carwood Manufacturing where she was a machine operator. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nicholson is preceded in death by brothers George and Ralph Blair and sister Mildred Blair.

Survivors include her husband Henry Garland "Whit" Nicholson of Clarkesville, sons and daughters in law Bruce and Brenda Nicholson of Demorest and Stacy and Carol Nicholson of Portland, Oregon, brothers Frank Blair of Madison County and Jimmy Blair of Cleveland, sister Betty Jean Grubb of Jackson, Tennessee, as well as five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
