Roy Wilburn Tanner Jr.

Roy Wilburn Tanner Jr., 45, of Oakwood, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Darryl Womack officiating. Interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Tanner was born June 15, 1966 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Roy and Mary Jo Eller Tanner. Mr. Tanner was of the Baptist Faith and was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Vickie Chelena and his grandmothers, Elsie Tanner and Retha Eller.

Survivors include his companion, Jessie Paul of Oakwood, brother & sister-in-law, Josh and Lisa Tanner of Oakwood, sister & brother-in-law, Terri and Dwight Carder of Dahlonega, nephews, Anthony Chelena and Will Tanner, brother-in-law, Marc Chelena and many other relatives.
