R.G. Lackey

R.G. Lackey, 83, of Cumming passed away Feb. 3. He lived most of his adult life in Chamblee, where he worked at General Motors, General Electric and owned and operated several gasoline service stations. He was a kind and wonderful man who was greatly loved and he will be dearly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Florine McKinzey Lackey, daughter and son-in-law Deborah & Larry Wilson of Jasper, daughter Denise Howell of Decatur, daughter and son-in-law Lesa & Steve Hagelin of North Wales PA, daughter Christi Lackey of Cumming, granddaughter Emily Howell and grandsons Alex Howell, Bryan Hagelin and Nicholas Hagelin, sister and brother-in-law Helen & W.H. Wofford of Gainesville and brother and sister-in-law Robert and Bethina Lackey of Gainesville. He was predeceased by his son Stephen Lackey, and grandson Christopher Lackey.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 6 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Feb. 7 with the Rev. Dr. Todd Speed officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Forsyth County.
