Jordan D. "JD" Stone

Jordan D. "JD" Stone, age 88 of Gainesville, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 27, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Drewery Loggins, Reverend Stacey Phillips, Reverend Clack Stubbs and Reverend Ricky Stone will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Stone was born on December 27, 1923 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Carl Stone and Dimmie Ward Stone. Mr. Stone was a member of Redwine United Methodist Church, but attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Henry Stone, sister-in-law, Dollie Stone and sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.

Mr. Stone is survived by his wife of 63 years, Madge Ivey Stone of Gainesville, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, great-great nieces & nephews and countless beloved friends.
