William Harold "Bill" McElwaney

William Harold "Bill" McElwaney, age 56 of Clarkesville, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Piedmont Hospital.

Born in Fulton County on November 23, 1955, he was a son of the late Milton and Annie Lee Baswell McElwaney. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching movies, his dogs and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McElwaney was also preceded in death by a son, William McElwaney, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Harrelson and Margaret Perkins.

Survivors include loving wife of 22 years, Cindy Mitchell McElwaney of Clarkesville; sons, Michael Carlisle of Jefferson, Ricky Miller of Clarkesville, Tommy Miller of Clarkesville, and Dwayne McElwaney of Tennessee; daughters, Amy Miller of Athens and Debbie McElwaney; brothers, Milton McElwaney, Jr. of McDonough and Walter McElwaney of Hampton; sisters, Elizabeth Clements of Stockbridge and Marie Rowlett of Clarkesville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Friday, March 02, 2012, at Open Arms in Alto with Rev. Wes King officiating.

The family will receive friends, following the service, at the residence of Marie Rowlett, 760 Alfred Taylor Road, Demorest, GA 30535.
