Claude William Bagwell

Mr. Claude William Bagwell, 91 of Gainesville died Wednesday February 29, 2012 at his residence.

A life long resident of Gainesville, Mr. Bagwell was the son of the late Clifford William and Nadine Fulcher Bagwell. Mr. Bagwell was retired from the Owen-Osborne Hosery Mill where he was the manager over research and development with over 39 years of service. He also served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. A graduate of Riverbend High School Class of 1939, Mr. Bagwell also attended North Georgia College and was a member of the First Baptist Church on Green Street.

Survivors include his sister, Anis Shaw, Gainesville; niece, Jean Buffington, Gainesville; great niece and husband, Jennifer and Billy Hollingsworth, Gainesville; great great nephew, Will Hollingsworth, Gainesville; cousins, Pat Casey, Oxford,GA; Robert and Gloria Casey, Gainesville; Esther Ezell, Oxford, GA; a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 3, 2012 in the chapel of the First Baptist Church on Green Street. The Rev. Dr. T. Richard Davis and the Rev. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Friday March 2, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, 1012 North University Boulevard, Middletown, OH 45042 or the Ministry of Caring at the First Baptist Church, 751 Green Street, Gainesville, Ga. 30501.
