Clarence Mathis

Obituary Date: Sunday, March 18, 2012
Clarence Mathis, 74, of Gainesville passed away at his residence Sunday March 18, 2012 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 11:00am from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Hugh Hubbard, Rev. Dwayne Welborn, and Rev. Wendell Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Mathis was born May 27, 1937 in Winder GA to the late Glenson and Emmaline Beck Mathis. He served in the United States Army and was a retired from Chicopee Manufacturing. Mr. Mathis was a member of the Refuge Worship Center. Mr. Mathis is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Inez Mathis, and daughter Tina Mathis.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tammy & Jon White of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law Jerry & Wanda Mathis of Paisley FL, son and daughter-in-law Jacky & Valeria Mathis of Clermont, son Joseph Mathis of Gainesville, granddaughters Breanna Mathis, Elizabeth White, and Abby Mathis, grandsons Justin Mathis, Dalton Mathis, Jacob Mathis, sister Florence Wallace of Winder, sister Kathleen Maynard of Gainesville, brother J.C. Mathis of Winder, brother Curtis Mathis of Winder, brother Larry "Sambo" Mathis of Toccoa.
