Henry Clyde Stowers

Obituary Date: Tuesday, April 3, 2012

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday April 5, 2012, at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery for Mr. Henry Clyde Stowers, 83, of Gainesville who passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at his residence following a period of declining health. Rev. Mike Stowers and Rev. Lamar Kestner will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on May 20, 1928, in Dawson County, he was the son of the late Henry Dewey and Izze Anderson Stowers. He was retired from Crystal Farms in Chestnut Mountain and also worked with Gainesville Salvage Disposal. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Patsy Stowers.

Mr. Stowers is survived by his wife Gladys Stowers of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Ken Cronan of Demorest; son, Danny Stowers of Clermont; daughters, Pat Childers of Gaffney, SC, Linda Moore of Hull GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Jimmy Echols of Colbert, GA, Brenda and Terry Hembree of Maysville, GA; daughter, Janet Black of Commerce; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Steed of Danielsville, Donnie and Liz Steed of Athens, 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Leukemia Foundation of Georgia 3715 Northside Parkway Bldg 400 Northcreek, Ste 300 Atlanta, GA 30327
