Lorene Collins Goss

Lorene Collins Goss, age 85, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Goss was born on January 14, 1927, in White County, Georgia, to the late Charles Spurgeon and Maudina Davis Collins. She was also preceded in death by her son, S.T. Goss, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Goss; brothers, Sherry and Ralph Collins; and sister, Irene Collins. Mrs. Goss retired from Scovill Manufacturing with 27 years of dedicated service and was a member of the Stonepile Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, S.T. Goss, Sr., Hiawassee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Larry Mize, Clarkesville, GA; son, Charles Goss, Gainesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Becky Goss, Clarkesville, GA; sister, Dorothy Hames, Demorest, GA; brother, C.J. Collins, Jonesboro, GA; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Tony Goss and Rev. Connie Berry officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the funeral home.
