Phil Lamar Harrison

SMr. Phil Lamar Harrison, age 76, of Lavonia, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his home following an extended illness.

Born October 30, 1935 in Lavonia, he was the son of the late Hoyt and Mittie Thomas Harrison. He was a graduate of Lavonia High School and the University of Georgia. After college, he taught vocational agriculture at Banks County High School. He retired as county executive director for Franklin, Stephens, and Banks Counties with the Farm Service Agency of the US Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Williams Harrison; daughters, Cindy Harrison Marlar and Libby Harrison Cleveland; grandchildren, Katee, Lindsay, and Graycee Marlar, and Harrison and Parks Cleveland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Janelle Harrison Collins and Mary Faith Harrison; and a brother, Thomas Hoyt Harrison.

Funeral service will be held at two o'clock Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Harvill and the Rev. Edward Whitworth officiating.

Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens, North.

The family will receive friends at the Strickland Funeral Home, Lavonia Chapel Monday, April 9, 2012 from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm.
