James "Bay" Lance

James "Bay" Lance, age 61 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at his residence following a sudden illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Wayne Hicks and Reverend Scott Lance will officiate.


Mr. Lance was born August 31, 1950 in Jefferson, Georgia to the late Clyde Lance and Willie Mae Funderburk Lance. He was employed at Dixie Upholstery and was of the Baptist Faith. Bay was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ida Mae Lance and his brother, Eugene Lance.

Mr. Lance is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Missy & Todd Wilson of Oakwood, daughter, Alexsys "Lexy" Lance of Gainesville, sons, Marty Lance and Hunter Bay Lance, both of Gainesville, grandchildren, Cole & Kinsey Wilson, Nick Lance and Emma Lance, sister & brother-in-law, Joe & Willie Gee of Gainesville, brothers & sisters-in-laws, Junior & Hazel Lance of Pendergrass, Jerry & Deborah Lance of Gainesville and Mike & Judy Lance of Lula, special friends, Linda Lance and Sandra Harrison, both of Gainesville and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
