Nay Hale Duke

Nay Hale Duke, age 74 of Cleveland, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Duke was born in Jefferson Ga on December 12, 1937 to Martha Louise Hale Duke and the late Robert Nay Duke. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Duke was a retired Investigator with the District Attorney's office in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit. He was a member of the Professional Bowlers Association, the American Legion Roy Head Post 16 and was a member of Loudsville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Debra Duke, Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law: Melissa & Tracy Dooley, Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law: Mark & Amy Duke, Jefferson; mother, Martha Louise Duke, Jefferson; mother of his children, Dawn Duke, Jefferson; grandchildren: Corey Dooley, Savannah Dooley, Caitlin Duke, Aiden Duke, all of Jefferson; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gary & Rita Duke, Athens, Brian & Jama Duke, Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by the White County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
