Garland Reagan

Obituary Date: Tuesday, May 8, 2012
Garland Reagan, 69, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a short illness.

Born March 6, 1943 in Gastonia, NC to the late Edward and Fannie Reagan, he lived most of his life in Dawson County. Along with his son, Mr. Reagan owned and operated Reagan Fence Company. He was a founding member and past Post Commander of American Legion Post 247 and was a founding member of the Amicalola Bow Hunters. Garland was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of Viet Nam, was a member of Juno Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Reagan, and sister, Garnetta Fields.

Surviving are his sons and daughter in law, Chris Reagan, Dawsonville, Shawn and Charlene Reagan, Loganville; grandson, Michael Reagan, Loganville; brothers, Steve Reagan, Ball Ground, Howard Reagan, Dawsonville, Marshall Reagan, Dawsonville, Butch Reagan, Dawsonville; sisters, Kathryn Smith, Dawsonville, Barbara Kuhn, Greer, SC, Carolyn Sweatman, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 10, 2012 at 2 o'clock at Juno Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Weldy and Rev. Tim Biddy will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 until 9 at the funeral home.
