William "Bill" Greer

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday June 4, 2012, at Lanier Village Estates Chapel for William "Bill" Greer, 87, of Gainesville. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

Born on October 18, 1924, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late William and Mary McGregor Greer. He was a Staff Sgt in the Army Air Force during WWII. He retired in 1987 from Proctor and Gamble.

Mr. Greer is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edith Greer of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, William A. and Holly Greer of Avon, Conn; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Jim Millberry of Newtown, Conn; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and LuAnn Greer of Brookfield, Conn; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kristie Greer of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Tim Greer, Dan Greer, Jennifer Lake and her husband Scott, Chelsey Heidorn and her husband Miles, Nicole White and her husband Robert, Jack Greer, Emily Greer; great grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Kaitlyn Lake, Caiden Heidorn, and Rilee White.
