Linda Ann Walden

Mrs. Linda Ann Walden, age 64, of Dahlonega, died June 7, 2012 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Walden was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church. She was a Real Estate Broker with Century 21, Walden & Co. Realty.

She was the daughter of the late Dock Candler and Martha Faye Gooch and was also preceded in death by her brother Joe Terrell Gooch.

She leaves behind her spouse of 39 years, Wyman Walden and three daughters and son in laws, Wendy & Scott Simmons of Cumming, GA, Kelly & Kevin Boortz of Springdale, AR and Brittany & Matt Mundy of Smyrna, GA. She had six grandchildren whom she loved more than words can express; Graham Simmons, Candler Boortz, Victoria Simmons, Gracie Boortz, Mattie Boortz and Olivia Simmons.

She is also survived by sisters, Alma Edwards Moore, Sue Ridley and sister and brother in law Doris and Donald Flanagan, brother, Arnold Gooch, all of Dahloega, brother and sister in law Mike and Marlene Fuller of Anchorage, AK, sister in laws Ann Gooch of Jonesboro, GA, Elizabeth Tuggle and Margie Walden, both of Dahlonega. Mrs. Walden had numerous sweet nieces and nephews that she adored and many other relatives and loving friends.

Arrangements made by Dahlonega Funeral Home. Funeral Services, Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Yahoola Baptist Church with Revs. Lyman Caldwell, Josh Chatham and Terry Head officiating. Interment in Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery with Steven Adams and Andy Caldwell assisting. Pall bearers: Billy Adams, Clark Anderson, Keith Anderson, Daniel Fuller, Tripp King, Jerry Lunsford, Bobby Miller, Greg Raber, and Jamie Satterfield.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Linda to the Northeast Georgia Hospice at 2150 Limestone Pkwy, Suite 222, Gainesville, GA 30501 or make blood donations to the America Red Cross.
