Jimmy Hix

Jimmy Hix, age 55 of Alto, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at his residence.

Born in Hall County, GA on February 16, 1957, he was a son of the late Guy Thomas and Inez Lois Loggins Hix. Mr. Hix was self-employed in the construction industry, and also worked with Habersham Hardware and Watkins Lumber Company for many years.

He attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church, and was an avid lover of horseback riding. Mr. Hix was also a volunteer fireman with West Banks and Baldwin Volunteer Fire Departments.

Surviving are loving wife of 37 years, Brenda P. Hix of the home; daughters, Lisa Hix of Alto, Ashley Hix and Heather Hix of Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Jennifer Hix of Alto; son, Cory Hix of Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda & Bruce Simmons of Alto ;sister, Connie Loudermilk of Cornelia; his pride and joy, grandson, Leland C. Hix of Alto; stepmother, Annette Hix of Alto; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, June18, 2011 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Pastor Tim Beasley and Rev. Silas Hix officiating.

Interment will follow in Living Mission United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robbie Welbourn officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
