Ray Gerald Osborne

Mr. Ray Gerald Osborne, age 78, of Toccoa, beloved husband of Barbara Miller (Bobbie) Osborne, entered the gates of heaven on June 16, 2012.

Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Clara Osborne Honea. After graduating from Westminster High School in 1951, Ray proudly served his country in the U. S. Army from 1951-1957. He was a 26 year retiree with Delta Airlines, and he resided in Forest Park, GA., from 1960-1980, Jonesboro, GA., from 1980-1993, and Toccoa, GA., from 1993-2012. He was a member of the Forest Park Moose Lodge # 1875, and the Forest Park Masonic Lodge # 399. Ray was a member and attended Grace Baptist Church, in Toccoa, where he was also a member of the Joy Sunday School Class.

Family members include his wife, Bobbie; adoptive sons, Kristan Castro and Ben Zorn; a sister, Dolly Sheriff; beloved nieces, Tracy Lee and Phyllis Ayers; nephew, Bryan Miller; great nieces, Jessie Lee, Morgan Lee, Rachel Ayers, Eva Grace Miller.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Osborne Hones; sister, Brenda Wilson; and his grandmother, Rena Osborne.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Monday, June 18, 2012 at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Bradberry, the Rev. Brad Bridgmon, and the Rev. Kevin Burris officiating. Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery with Military Honors.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jeff Lee, Dennis Nash, Larry Cunningham, Gerome Webb, Lloyd York, Gene Crawford, Jim Miller, and Art Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday School Class, Regency Members, Donna Ledford, Dan Lehman, Chaplain Jan, Michael Pless, Matt Farrow, Charlie Harris, and Bob Higginbotham.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 Sunday at Whitlock Mortuary.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make contributions in Ray's memory to the Stephens County Humane Society. Ray loved God's little creatures.
