Joseph Lawrence Welborn

Funeral services for Joseph Lawrence Welborn, age 83, of Clarkesville, will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Paul Bryson will officiate with interment to follow the service in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Welborn died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born on September 5, 1928, Mr. Welborn was the son of the late Joseph Lawrence and Harriett Worley Welborn, Sr. Mr. Welborn was a self-employed contractor and he was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish as well as spend time with his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Welborn is preceded in death by wife Lulia Pernell Taylor Welborn, sons Stanley and Donald Joe Welborn, and grandson Eric Welborn.

Survivors include sons and daughters in law Dewayne and Janice Welborn of Clarkesville, Rick and Terry Welborn of Baldwin, and Randy and Juanita Welborn of Lake Wales, Florida, daughters and sons in law Susie and Rodney Green of Fort Myers, Florida and Mary and Rodney Williams of Alto, as well as 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.
