Marion Payne Ariail

Mrs. Marion Payne Ariail, age 98, of Toccoa, GA died Friday, June 22, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Ariail was born in 1914 in Gainesville, GA, the daughter of the late Marion Luther and Leila Belle Strickland Payne and was the widow of the late Omer Gilbert Ariail. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Toccoa, was a school teacher for more than thirty years, and taught Sunday school for sixty-eight years.

Mrs. Ariail is survived by: Sons: Dr. Dan Ariail, Plains, GA; Fred Ariail, Flowery Branch, GA; Daughters: Pat Wood, Toccoa, GA; Dr. Mary Ariail, Decatur, GA; Lyn Bishop, Elberton, GA; 15 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Harley and Cecil Payne.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 2:30 pm from the Chapel of the Whitlock Mortuary with Dr. Henry Fields and Rev. David Ritcey, officiating.


Family will receive friends at the Whitlock Mortuary on Sunday from One o'clock until time for the service.

Interment will follow at the Sunrise Cemetery in Maysville, GA.

Mrs. Ariail's grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Adam Broughton, Dr. Andy Ariail, Wes Wood, Danny Ariail, Walt Dundore, and David Wood.
