Mary Ann Dover Whitten

Mary Ann Dover Whitten, age 82, of Cornelia, Georgia, died on Friday, July 6, 2012, after a brief illness at Northeast Georgia Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Whitten was born on April 14, 1930, in Habersham County, Georgia; daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Dooley Dover. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Whitten; brothers, Arthur, Wilburn, and Earl Dover; and sisters, Essie Harris and Ruth Hill. Mrs. Whitten was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. Mary Ann was well known for her quick wit and out spoken demeanor. Mrs. Whitten had endless friends and could always be found on the phone or on the road. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing cards with her grandchildren
