Dorothy Eugenia Borders Shirley

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Dorothy Eugenia Borders Shirley, age 81, of Winder, GA formerly of Stone Mountain, Ga. who passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012.

Mrs. Shirley was born in Jackson County, a daughter to the late Brandon and Rilla Borders. Mrs. Shirley was a Licensed Cosmetologist and Volunteered at DeKalb Medical center. Mrs. Shirley was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, GA. Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene Clayton Shirley, and her brothers, Thurmond Borders, Lamartine Borders and Larry Borders.

Survivors include her daughters, Lisa M. Shirley, Winder, Ga., Terri J. Shirley, Winder, Ga., Pamela J. Ferebee, Athens, Ga., son, David C. Shirley, Atlanta, Ga., sister, Joann Wallis, Cumming, Ga., grandchildren, Heather Nichole Johnson, Natalie Topham, great grandchild, Ashley Marie Topham.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Barrett officiating. The burial will follow in the Apple Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Kryan Murnane, Buster Shirley, Robin Lord, Waymon Wallis, Danny White and Tim Shirley honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
