Wayne "Cabbage" Chester

Obituary Date: Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Wayne "Cabbage" Chester, 62, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday October 2, 2012 at his residence.

Born April 1, 1950 to the late Earl and Inell Chester, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Mr. Chester was a self employed auto mechanic and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Chester.

Surviving are his children, Denise and Billy Wehunt, Dawsonville, Jon Chester, Cumming; grandchildren, Heather Edwards, Hunter Wehunt; great granddaughter, Calli Edwards; sisters and brothers in law, Helen Anderson, Dawsonville, Shirley and Gary Bruce, Hoschton, Teresa and Tim Parton, Dawsonville, Melba and Jerrell Fricks, Dahlonega, Connie and Ronnie Sosebee, Dawsonville, Anne Martin, Dawsonville; brothers and sister in law, James and Jimmie Ann Chester, Dawsonville, Norman Chester, Dawsonville, Bennie Chester, Dawsonville, David Chester, Dawsonville, Marty Chester, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 5, 2012 at 1 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ronnie Sosebee and Rev. Jimmy Chester will officiate. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
