Angel Blalock

Obituary Date: Sunday, October 7, 2012

Angela Lisanne Blalock: Birth, Tampa, FL on February 16, 1961. Death, Tiger, GA on October 7, 2012.

Angel Blalock was born with a zest for life. She lived every day to its fullest and her middle name should have been "Joy", because of her loving and positive approach to everything in her life.

She loved many things in her 51 years of life, but foremost was family, friends and career. Angel adored being a Mother and Grandmother and would always be most happy sharing stories of her Grandchildren. Memories of her children when they were growing up and life with her family in Florida were always topics of conversation. She loved funny stories of her children and grandchildren and loved to laugh at herself.

Angel was loved and supported by her husband Ted. She took such pleasure in telling funny tales about their adventures together. At times she would laugh so hard that it was hard for her to tell the story. Angel and Ted had 25 years of time to build memories and grow their family and both felt blessed by the time they had.

Angel never met a stranger. She would open her heart to all she met and anyone that was lucky enough to know her, knew she was their friend. Angel had friends from all walks of life and was never too busy to make time for them. During her illness she had over 21,000 visits to her brain cancer update website. All from friends she had made because she was so open and loving and full of fun. Everyone has at least one special "Angel" story that makes them laugh.

Angel started her career at Waste Management in an entry level position and, at the point she left, she had won an award as the top sales rep in the nation. Angel never did anything halfway! She made many friends during her time at Waste Management from those she managed to those she talked into being customers. Angel brought a sense of style to her business but loved to talk trash!

Not only will Angel be missed by those who love her but she will carry on in their hearts. Anytime her loved ones see an Angel, she will be there. Her strength, tenacity and joy of life will live on in her family and friends. Angel had a profound impact on all who knew her and we will all embrace life a little more with her in our hearts.

Angel is survived by her loving husband Ted, their five children: Cristina (Jeff Weber), Justin, Mike, Jamie and Woody, and their twelve grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, brother, and her two sisters among dozens of other loving family members. She will be greatly missed in her home communities of Clayton and Tiger by friends and neighbors who provided caring support during her courageous battle with brain cancer.

The family will receive friends Tuesday Oct 9, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM at Beck Funeral Home. Celebration of life service will be held Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Dendy Officiating.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Brain Tumor Association 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Ste 550 Chicago, IL 60631 in her memory.

Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements. If there are any questions, please call 706-782-9599. An online Memorial Register Book is available at www.beckfuneralhome.com.
