Bernice Elvira Savage Shockley

Bernice Elvira Savage Shockley, age 79 of Lula, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Reverend Benny London and Reverend Lonnie Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shockley was born November 7, 1932 in Gainesville, GA to the late Homer and Frankie Anglin Savage. She was retired from Mount Vernon Mills and was a member of Lula Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Shockley; her daughters, Brenda Standridge and Tammy (Pete) Shockley; son, James Shockley.

Mrs. Shockley is survived by her granddaughter, Cassandra Shockley of Lula; son, Billy Shockley of Lula; daughter, Shirley Adair of Lula; daughter, Sheila Lustig of Panama City Beach, FL; son, Tommy Shockley of Dublin; son, Frankie Shockley oof Winder; daughter, Tina Withrow of Lula; son, Jeffery (Boone) Shockley of Lula; great-grandson, Jessey Shockley and great-granddaughter, Samantha Shockley, 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cozetta Myers of Lula and Eula Mae Strayhorn of Cornelia and brother, B.D. Savage of Gainesville.
