James Marcus Leger

Obituary Date: Friday, October 19, 2012
James Marcus Leger, 77, of Woodstock, GA passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 with his two sons by his side. Born in Demascus, GA, he was the son of the late Jay E. Leger and the late Myrneth Parrish Leger. His soul mate and beloved wife of 41 years, Ellen Patterson Leger, also preceded him in death.

Marcus had a wonderful intellect. He loved art, writing, the Atlanta Braves and was an avid jazz enthusiast. Those blessed to know him appreciated his keen sense of humor and quick wit. Engaging in political conversations and spending time with family were among his greatest joys.

He is survived by his son, Jay Leger and wife Jenni of Keller, TX; son, Les Leger of Woodstock, GA; sister, Dorothy Leger Sutton of Ocilla, GA; grandchildren, Logan Leger and Whitney Leger; numerous nieces, a nephew, a sister-in-law and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Romney/Ryan election fund, as Marcus spent a lifetime campaigning for the Republican Party.

A Memorial Service was held Sunday, October 21, 2012 at McDonald and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Full Military Honors.
