Virgil Douglass Moore

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Virgil Douglass Moore, age 77, of Jefferson, who passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012.

Mr. Moore was born in Sardis, Mississippi, a son to the late Ben H. and Luxora Pearl Caldwell Moore. Mr. Moore was and Insurance Agent, a member of the Galilee Christian Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Walton Moore, Jefferson, children, Wesley Moore, Athens, Virgil "Chip" Moore Jr., Canyon, TX, Sandra Moore, Athens, Tim Moore, Auburn, brother, E. Don Moore, Jackson MS, grandchildren, Daniel Cohen, Joseph Cohen, Dustyn Moore, Brady Moore Burrell, Kelcy Moore, Timothy Moore Jr., Matthew Moore, Jesse Moore, 4 great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will held on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at 3:00PM in the Galilee Christian Church with Minister Tom Plank officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm at the church, prior to the service.
