Jim Bob Sloan

Mr. Jim Bob Sloan, age 61, of Winder, GA and formerly of the Mt. Moriah Community passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 after a sudden illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Branson and Colena Wood Sloan; sister, Rilla Sloan Lee and Bernice Sloan; and brother, Lee Jarvis Sloan.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Jenny Elaine Sloan Shadburn, Winder, GA and Jill Sloan Phillips and husband, Eric, Dacula, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tanya Sloan, Winder, GA; five grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Billy Marr, Suches, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Terrell and Diane Sloan, Hoschton, GA and Ernest Paul Sloan, Hartwell, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Sloan was born January 28, 1951 in Auburn, GA. He received his education at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA. He was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Doraville, GA after thirty-one years of service and a member of the U. A. W. Local 10. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Shadburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
