Victor Durham Williams

Obituary Date: Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Victor Durham Williams, age 83, of Gainesville, GA died at home with his family present on November 14, 2012.

Born in Winder, GA he was predeceased by his parents, Robert & Elizabeth Williams, granddaughter, Mary Beth Davidson, brother, Col. Robert Samuel Williams, Jr.

Mr. Williams was a member of Cumming First United Methodist Church and a member of the Sorta 50's Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of North GA College and active in the Friends Forever Alumni Association. He was a 1st. Lt. of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War where he received the Bronze Star. Mr. Williams was retired from General Motors and spent 32 years as an accountant in the business administration department, and was very active in Lakewood Retirement Club.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Williams, of Gainesville, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Beth & Bill Davidson, of Cumming, son and daughter-in-law, Vic & Laura Williams, Jr., of Loganville, sister, Jacqueline Hammond, of Gainesville, and brother and sister-in-law, Richard & Cheryl Williams, of Gainesville, sister-in-law, Carolyn Williams, of Gainesville, grandchildren, William Victor Davidson & Susanna Davidson.

Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2012 at the McDonald & Son Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the CFUMC Food Bank in memory of Victor Durham Williams.
