Clarence Hubert "C.H." Bowen

Mr. Clarence Hubert "C.H." Bowen, age 87, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born on December 27, 1924, Mr. Bowen was a life-long native of Habersham County and a son of the late Harrison & Clara Beck Bowen. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served his country proudly in WWII. His life-long passion was working on his farm and he enjoyed assisting many in the community, often doing work for them with his tractor. Mr. Bowen was a member of the Demorest Church of God and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Eller Bowen, son, Roy Bowen, great-grandson, Palmer Nease, brothers, William H. Bowen, Donnie Lee Bowen, Etna Fay Bowen, John Bowen, Lavern "Jim" Bowen, sisters, Mary Whitehead, Mae Bowen, & Doris Nebb.



Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Clarence A. and Carolyn Bowen, Clarkesville, GA; son, Ray H. Bowen, Mt. Airy, GA; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Beasley officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest with full military honors provided by the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post # 7720, American Legion Post # 84, Rabun County D.A.V. Chapter # 15, and the Georgia National Guard.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
