Annice Mae Godfrey Castleberry

Annice Mae Godfrey Castleberry, 99, traveled the Glory road to her heavenly home on December 14, 2012 at her residence in Gainesville.

Born on October 2, 1913 in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late W.A. (Billy) and Ollie White Godfrey. She married Paul Castleberry in 1932 and raised six children and helped raise most of her grandchildren while working at Guilford Mill. She loved working with her flowers or in her garden. She was saved when she was nine years old at camp meeting. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. The Rev. Lamar Purcell and Rev. Lewis Lord will officiate. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.



In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Castleberry daughter, Betty Castleberry Richardson, infant son Dan Castleberry, and daughter-in-law, Lois Castleberry.



She is survived by her son, Edward Castleberry; daughter, Nell Castleberry, son-in-law, John Richardson; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Mary Castleberry, Frank and Charlotte Castleberry, Will and Caroline Castleberry. She was grandmother to thirteen and great-grandmother to eighteen.
