Richard (Dick) P. Conrad

Obituary Date: Thursday, December 20, 2012
Richard P. Conrad, "Dick", went home to be with our Lord Thursday, December 20th, 2012.

Dick dedicated his lifetime to providing and caring for his wife of nearly 60 years, Virgie Lou, and his three children Gary, Nancy, and Linda.

Being a native of Pittsburgh, PA, his working career spanned 37 years as a chemical sales representative for Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He also proudly served our country in WWII.

Dick delivered for Meals on Wheels here in Gainesville, and alongside Virgie, he gave his time to several soup kitchens from Ohio to North Carolina to Georgia. He also volunteered as a fireman for the Lake Lure fire department in NC, and spent many years singing bass for several SPEBSQSA barbershop groups.

Dick is survived by his wife, three children, six grandchildren, Joshua, Leah, Sarah, Amy, Benjamin, Christian, and one great-grandchild, Savannah Belle.

We will be celebrating our dad and Grandpa Conrad's homecoming with a memorial service at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Thursday, December 27th at 2:00 PM.

Dick will be buried near many relatives on Saturday at the historical Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.

If led, donations may be sent, in honor of Dick Conrad, to Good News At Noon: 979 Davis St., Gainesville, GA 30501 (770.503.1366).

What an amazing blessing that Christ was born on Christmas, so that we could be graced, through faith, with eternal life.
