Lillie Drucilla Carter Bentley, age 95 of Cornelia, joined her Heavenly Father on January 2, 2013.
Mrs. Bentley was born in Stephens County on January 23, 1917, and was the daughter of the late William David & Drucilla Friar Carter. She was the widow of Newell Grant Bentley, Sr.
She was a devoted and loving mother and is survived by her son, Newell Grant Bentley Jr. of Cornelia, married to Tammye Doran Bentley, and daughter, Rebecca Elise Bentley Limpalair of Greenville, SC, married to Yves Jean Victor Limpalair; her grandsons, Jonathan David Limpalair and Christophe Grant Limpalair both of Greenville, SC; sisters in law, Mildred Bentley of Cornelia, Grace Carter of Toccoa, and Miriam Bentley of Cornelia, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bentley was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Cander, Frank, Alvin, Will and Charlie Carter; sisters, Bessie Jordan, Grace Carter, Bertie Ward, Annie Andrews, Victorine Carter and an infant sister. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Bentley devoted her time to Bible study and the memorization of scriptures. Her hobbies included crocheting, puzzles, flower and vegetable gardening, sewing and reading.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2pm Sunday, January 6, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Cornelia with Dr. Eric Spivey, Rev. David Turner and Rev. Steve Doran officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.
The Bentley family will receive friends & family at the funeral home from 4-6 pm on Saturday.
Those serving as pallbearers include Grant Bentley, Christophe Limpalair, Jonathan Limpalair, Yves Limpalair, Kent Andrews, Dan Dean, Glenn Kesler and Scott Klemens.
