Miles Drysdale Beech

Obituary Date: Sunday, January 6, 2013
Miles Drysdale Beech, dearly beloved husband and best friend of Harriet Bancroft Beech of Clarkesville, Ga died on January 6, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Beech was born in Lima, Peru, son of Joseph and Audrey Beech and is survived by his wife Harriet, son and daughter in law William and Rebecca Beech of Los Angeles, CA, daughter and son in law Alice and Alan Hoag of Clarkesville, GA; seven grandchildren, Sarah (and Elias) Busuego, Ivy Beech, Joseph Beech, Sam, Stuart and Stephen Hoag, and Sara (and Bill) Gustafson; and two great grandchildren, Kellie and Kasey Gustafson.

Educated at Ampleforth College in England, McGill University in Canada and the Harvard Business School in Boston, Mr. Beech was a pilot and navigator in the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II, and held executive positions in subsidiaries of United Technologies Corp. / Pratt & Whitney.

Upon retirement, he and Mrs. Beech served with SAMS (the Southern American Missionary Society) and subsequently as co-chairs of the Outreach Committee at Grace - Calvary Episcopal Church in Clarkesville.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 3:00 PM at Grace - Calvary Episcopal Church in Clarkesville.
