William Jerry Martin

William Jerry Martin, age 52, of Murrayville, GA, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013.

William was born and raised in Andrews, NC to the late Boyd and Edna Brooks Martin, and had lived in Hall County since 1982. He was retired from Gainesville Iron Works, where he had worked as a steel fabricator, and was an avid woodworker who had built many beautiful projects and carvings. He was of the Southern Baptist Faith.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Vina Burris Martin; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Stroud, Temple, TX, and Gary Stroud and Amelia White, Andrews, NC; brothers, Jack Martin, Marble, NC, and Timothy Martin, Andrews, NC; sister Linda Conley, Andrews, NC; and sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Caroll Passmore, Thomasville, NC. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for William are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Ken Anderson, Rev. Mark Wheeler, and Rev. Mark Stroud will officiate.

Interment will be at 2:30 PM Saturday at the Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews, NC.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 2 PM until 8 PM on Friday, January 11, 2013.
