Christine Sosebee Spivey

Christine Sosebee Spivey, age 89, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013, at Habersham Medical Center.

Mrs. Spivey was born on May 10, 1923, in Clarkesville, Georgia; daughter of the late Ernest and Claudia Ione Gastley Sosebee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Cosby Spivey; brothers, Dewey Sosebee and James H. Sosebee; and sisters, Evelyn Tanksley, Grace Burton, and Annette Tench. She was a member of Habersham Baptist Church and retired from Habersham Mills.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Charles Kastner, Powder Springs, GA; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles E. and Julie Sosebee, Lake Villa, IL and Robert A. "Tony" and Linda D. Sosebee, Clarkesville, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the Habersham Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home.
