William H. Maurice

William H. Maurice, 84 of Cumming, GA died on January 26, 2013 at Dogwood Forest Assisted Living Community. Born in Whitehall, NY he was the son of the late Wilfred and Rita Maurice.

Mr. Maurice was a U.S. Marine Veteran of World War II. He served in North China with the 1st Marine Division. Awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, China Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 Battle Star, WWII Victory Medal and the China War Memorial Medal. Received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Marines and began a career in sales and real estate.

William's wife of 63 years, Mary Jane Maurice died April 26, 2011. He is survived by his children, Ron (Kristen) Maurice of Gainesville, GA, Tom Maurice of Wellfleet, MA, Kathy (Frank) Tiberii of Charlton, MA, Bob (Vanessa Wilson) Maurice of Richmond, VA, Debbie (Annesio) Silvia of Kennesaw, GA, and John (Nancy) Maurice of Hiram, GA; 9 granchildren and 11 great-granchildren.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
